A NOTE FROM THE PTA PRESIDENT:
Dear Wolford Family,
On behalf of the Wolford Elementary PTA board, welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! My name is Lindsey Naquin, and I am excited to be starting my second year as PTA President. My husband and I have 3 kids. Our two boys will be in the 4th and 5th grade, and our daughter is a 2022 graduate of Boyd High School and is enrolled in cosmetology school. I am so excited for the year ahead! Getting back to normal last year after two years of canceled events and programs has us more excited than ever to kick off the school year and we need YOU!
The mission of PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. Please consider volunteering! Whether you have a lot of time or just a little, we would love for you to join the Wolford PTA so we can get to know you and your family. Getting involved in the PTA really helped me to see what a wonderful school family we have at Wolford. We will kick off this school year with Chalk the Walk and Back to School night on Tuesday, August 8th. Come out at 4:30 pm and help us decorate the sidewalks with encouraging notes for our students and teachers! Kona Ice will be there to help keep us cool in this Texas heat. Part of their night’s proceeds will go right back to our Wolford PTA. The Back to School portion of the night will be from 5-6 pm. Information about how to join the PTA, committees you can volunteer to serve on, and ways your family can get involved this year will be available at the PTA table. Also, on the first day of school, the PTA will host our annual Tears and Cheers breakfast starting at 7:30 am and our 1st PTA general meeting will start at 8:00 am in the cafeteria. This is a great time to meet and get to know other Wolford parents and your Wolford PTA Board. We hope to see you all there after you drop off your kids!
You don’t have to wait until Back to School night to join us and start serving! Please email or call me if you are interested in helping with the many opportunities that our PTA has to serve even before we kick off the school year. We really look forward to getting to know you and your family! Enjoy the rest of the summer. The first day of school will be here before we know it!
